Things I learned working at a shop 12 hours a day.... -rebuilt stuff sucks. Period. If you can get it brand new or rebuilt by the original manufacturer....that's the way to go. Unfortunately, even Honda dealers have started selling autozone junk as Honda rebuilt. : / -bored out usually isn't a good phrase when you're not talking about cylinders (and that's not always good) -never buy anything that has a used solenoid....injectors or boost controllers alike. -the way 30+ other people did it and had it work is usually a good way to go. Being original is good....but usually not for the checkbook. and of course.... -if you can't do it right the first time....don't do it. So many dorks came into the shop wanting half-assed work that would ultimately lead them back into the shop later with a complaint (thus why we turned away a lot of dorks) last but not least.... -if you can't draw me a schematic of how a SAFC works, you don't need one. "Can you put an AFC in my Civic?" "Do you need one?" "yeah dawg...my friend has one on his eclipse and it was sweet" "do you know what it does?" "no" "your civic has almost no use for one" "i heard i could get a lot of power out of it" "not really, plus you'd have to dyno the car repeatedly to set it up" "nah...i saw the settings on the internet" About that time I find an important phone call to answer. That's not directed at anyone....but that's my logic after a little bit of time spent fighting with cars and dumb customers.
